Mustang Advanced Engineering (MAE), an American manufacturer of quality, industry-leading, testing equipment, dynamometers, and related products, recently installed a custom designed specialty test cell for research and development for a major producer of Power-Sport vehicles, motorcycles, ATVs, and side x sides. This manufacturer required a R&D test cell with the ability to test their four-wheeled products including a wide variety of side by sides and quads capturing both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains. The system also had to be able to accommodate profile attachments for performing “bump tests”. Mustang designed and supplied a highly advanced test cell complete with large 42-inch rollers, two large asynchronous AC dynamometers, heavy duty restraints, high velocity tire cooling fans and a 160,000 CFM, 250-hp frontal cooling fan system with speed/fan synchronization.
