Twinsburg, Ohio, December 28, 2021: Mustang Advanced Engineering (MAE) today announced that the company has delivered an End-of-Line (EOL) functional test stand for The Raymond Corporation. The Raymond Corporation, a Toyota Industries Corp. company, is a leading global provider of material handling products, and the MAE test stand will be used for final functional testing of electric pallet trucks manufactured at their Muscatine, Iowa facility.
The test stand will perform testing on the 6k/8k trucks produced by Raymond according to their specifications. The test stand can perform speed tests, acceleration tests, functional brake tests, reliability tests, and custom scripted cycle tests. The test stand incorporates a 24” diameter, thick wall roll with machined surface to eliminate wear on the test articles’ drive wheel. The roll is directly coupled to an inertia weight which provides ~7,000 lbs. of mechanical inertia. The test bed is also equipped with a speed sensor, roll lock system, and various system status signal/interlocks.
A hydraulic side restraint system is located on the left & right sides of the test stand that move laterally from each side of the test stand to make contact with the test article to lock it in place during testing. The restraint pads are Delrin lined to eliminate any scuffing/ damage to the test article’s finish. A rear restraint system is also integrated to prevent the test article from moving backwards during braking, as the 7,000 lbs. of inertia inherent to the test stand causes the test article to tend to move backwards during application of the brakes. The rear restraint system is pneumatically actuated to raise the pad above floor level. The system is hydraulically moved fore & aft to allow precise placement behind the test article. The pad is also Delrin lined to prevent scuffing the test article’s finish.
