Mustang Advanced Engineering offers a complete and comprehensive line up of axle-hub dynamometers. These hub dynos, or hub-axle dynamometers, are for EV, ICE gasoline/diesel, and hybrid vehicles including agricultural, construction, military, sports/recreational, and lawn care vehicles for a multitude of applications including R&D labs, universities, prototype labs, production rebuild environments, military depots and repair and remanufacturing facilities.
Hub Dynos
MAE has developed and supplied powertrain dynamometers for EV, ICE gasoline/diesel, and hybrid vehicle manufacturers and OEMS for years. The hub dynamometer gets bolted directly to the vehicle’s hub and utilize AC motors as power absorbers to precisely control output loading while a high accuracy torque flange provides true power measurements eliminating tire and other frictional losses. The hub dynamometer systems can be supplied with multiple motor drive package configurations including “Green” fully regenerative systems that return the absorbed power to the grid.
MAE provides hub dynamometers in 2 WD, 4WD, 6WD, and 8WD configurations. The dynamometers can be designed to test a wide variety of vehicle types on one system eliminating the need for multiple dynamometers.
MAE’s axle-mounted dynamometers are great for low inertia testing, and incorporate automatic camber adjustment with no leveling necessary and utilize today’s most sophisticated and advanced dynamometer control systems and software. MAE’s advanced dynamometer control systems give you the ability to accurately simulate virtually any operating condition you can imagine, including advanced inertia simulations.
