September 19, 2014 – Twinsburg, Ohio, USA – Mustang Advanced Engineering (MAE) today announced that the company has successfully delivered an 80 KN tow dynamometer with simultaneous PTO loading capability to AGCO for agricultural testing applications.
The tow dynamometer consists of multiple PAU’s, controls, software, generator, etc. to provide a turnkey system for research and development of large agricultural vehicles.
MAE demonstrated the tow dynamometer was more than capable of the rated specifications of 80 KN of drawbar force at 1.8 mph, with a maximum speed of 31 mph. The unit is equipped with the capability of loading the test vehicle’s PTO output while simultaneously applying drawbar force. The unit can also be used in towing mode only, or with PTO loading only. In all three (3) modes, a wide variety of control schemes are available in MAE’s tow dynamometer software package.
